This year has been all about the gnome in my house and every store has gnome themed merchandise in their Christmas section and I have officially bitten by the gnome loving bug! I wants to give a few bottles of wine as gifts but I couldn’t just give a plain bottle! So I came up with this gnome wine bottle topper tutorial to share. I just love how this turned out!
You need felt, fuzzy yarn in your choice of beard color, small hair ties, a glue gun and wine.
You begin with the gnome nose. You take a small square of felt in the desired nose color and stuff it with small bit of your yarn. Squish it around until it’s the right shape and tie it off tightly with your hair tie. Trim off the excess.
Next you are getting your beard ready. I make a triangle-ish shape. It’s on the wide side. Next snip a cross into it. Make sure your nose can pop through snuggly.
Take the nose out to add your yarn. A few strips of hot glue at a time and go back and forth with your yarn. Let hot glue sit for 10 seconds before you press down and save your finger tips! Continue to the end and snip off.
Then add your code back I. And make sure the yarn coverage is to your liking, you can always add more! Then take a scrap piece of felt and hot glue over the nose back to keep it in place.
I am using standard piece of precut felt. You can make 2 of these hats per piece of felt. You are cutting a rounded corner.
Put a dab of hot glue on top and stick the tip down. Then make a line of hot glue down the side and wait 10 seconds before you slowly bring the other side down.
Add a small line of glue on the top of your beard and attach it to the bottom of the hat. Then add your decor to the hat. I cut out a little heart! I love the pop of color and simplistic look!
Then pop it on to your wine bottle and adore how cute it is! If you want to add a little gift tag I have made these free printables! You can download the PDF here:gnome inspired gift tags for wine bottles
Be sure to send me a picture of your finished gnome wine bottles! Cant wait to see your color choices and creativity!
