This week starts the season of Lent and for many of us that means no meat. For those of us that live in the Cincinnati tri-state area we have a hard time imagining days where Cincinnati style chili is not an option. Enter Gold Star Chili to the rescue and their brand new gluten free, soy free all vegetarian chili! My family has the opportunity to make visit Gold Star Chili and see if we could taste the difference!
You can tell by the messiness that we are not pros in three way making but with Cincinnati Chili it isn’t in the look it’s in the taste! What you also can’t tell is that this is vegetarian chili! Chef Ryan Miller is the Gold Star Chili’s Development chef and after months of recipe testing he found the winning combo of the 13 secret blend of spices and absoutely nailed the texture made from a soy free vegetable protein that is gluten free and vegan.
I loved the Vegetarian chili and my kids could NOT tell the difference! We consider ourselves chili eating experts so that was crazy how spot on the taste and texture is and there is no funny aftertaste!
This is the perfect for chili lovers but who want a meatless option especially with the Lent season! But, it will only in restaurants today until April 16.
But, don’t worry your favorite meat options are still there too! I tried a chili burger as it didn’t disappoint! If your Gold Star Chili offers burgers you need to check them out!
All you have to do is leave a comment here and tell me your go to Gold Star Chili order! For a bonus entry head to my Facebook page and comment on the Gold Star post! I will choose a winner next Friday 3/10!
