To celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America, the princess’ school had dress like your favorite Dr. Seuss character. I am all about themes so dressing up is right up my alley. That being said, I forgot about it until the last minute. So around 7 pm last night I realized it and started to panic. They made Cat in the Hat hats already so that was out, I had no blue yarn on hand to make her Thing 1 or Thing 2 and I was close to making her a wocket for her pocket, but thought that would be to distracting and she didn’t want to be Sam I am, well because Sam is her brother. So, a quick google search led me to Daisy Head Maizey. Perfect! Maizey wears pink (no shortage of pink in our closets) and she just needed a daisy! We transformed pipe cleaners, ribbon, floral tape and a headband to have a daisy grow out of her head. Thankfully, we had all of these supplies at home so the whole costume came together quick and for free. (that pettiskirt has more than paid for itself for how often we use it!) Plus, it was creative enough for her to win best costume in her class! She was proud and I was happy that even when I threw something together last minute it worked out for the best!
