My kids have been slime crazy this past year. But every recipe has been goopy, stained our hands or has been full of chemicals. So, when my teen asked for butter slime I was nervous. But, we combined a few recipes and came up with a winner butter slime recipe!
Gel food coloring
Cooking oil (we used vegetable)
I started with 1/3 cup corn starch on a paper plate. Then I mixed in 1/4 cup of shampoo with one drop of food coloring already mixed in. Then I gently folded the starch and shampoo together and added 1-2 tsp of vegetable oil. At this point it seems like a crumbly mess and your hands feel like they are sticky but don’t give up!
Add up to 1/3 cup of corn starch in gradually. It will start to incorporate and the warmth of your hands will help it. You can also put one squirt of lotion on to your hands and slowly work it in.
In the end you have a soft and stretchy butter slime and happy kids!
